Inclusion Matters. This is my mission. Join me in making a difference, one child at a time.

My "What"

Everyday, I choose to work from a place of inclusion and not exclusion, empathy and not indifference, transformation and not stagnation, community and not isolation.

As an empathetic, resourceful teacher at heart, I choose today to empower parents with hope through personal guidance and practical tools (hands); encourage happiness in their homes as they affirm their children’s strengths and stretches (heart); and educate them to advocate with humility for their family’s desires and purpose (head).

I will make a difference.

My Story

Growing up, I always felt a strong pull to help others. Maybe this is because I needed that support at home and school. I knew I was different from the "normal" kids, but I didn't quite know how; I only knew how to be me.

I also knew I would be a teacher one day. I loved learning and helping others grasp concepts and learn new skills. Most of all, I enjoyed their enjoyment of learning and their knowledge that they could do it.

That's why my journey ended up in education as a high school science teacher. I would go on for over 30 years as a teacher, principal, and learning specialist (and still going). I find immense joy in helping students discover their potential, but deep down, I always knew a greater mission awaited me.

The true turning point in my life came when my wife and I adopted five Exceptionally Wired children (in addition to raising our oldest daughter). Suddenly, I wasn’t just an educator; I was a parent navigating the complex world of neurodivergence, trauma, and mental health challenges. Our continual struggles and triumphs as a family have opened my eyes to the urgent need for more support and understanding for parents like us.

We get it! Every day brings new challenges—understanding our children's unique needs, advocating for the right support, and creating a nurturing environment where each child can thrive. I realized that many parents faced these struggles, feeling isolated and overwhelmed, just as we did. I knew I had to use my professional experience and personal journey to make a broader impact and help other families navigate similar paths.

That's why, through extensive research and training at the doctoral level and my own experiences, I developed the Thriving Resilience Model (TRM), a comprehensive framework designed to support Exceptionally Gifted children and their families. My commitment to empowering, educating, and encouraging parents grew stronger. I wanted to help parents become their children’s biggest fans, trusted allies, insightful guides, connected nurturers, and adaptable advocates.

I founded The Inclusion Matters Collective because I am passionate about providing personalized coaching, interactive courses, practical tools, and compassionate support to families. Every day, I choose to work from a place of inclusion, empathy, and transformation. My goal is to help parents navigate their journey with hope and confidence.

So, I offer one-on-one and group coaching, courses, and resources to build collaborative communities to ensure no parent feels alone on this journey.

Today, I am more than an educator or a parent; I am a coach, a guide, an author, a speaker, and an advocate. My mission is to revolutionize parenting, education, and support systems for Exceptionally Wired children. Through The Inclusion Matters Collective, I share my knowledge, passion, and experience to inspire and impact families, creating a world where every child can be resilient and thrive.

As I continue on this journey, I invite you to join me. Together, we can navigate the complexities of raising Exceptionally Wired children, celebrate their strengths, support their stretches, and advocate for their needs and desires. Inclusion matters; together, we can make a difference—one child, one family at a time, starting with yours.

Every day is an opportunity to empower a parent and support a child. Let's create a future where Exceptionally Wired children are not just accepted but celebrated and affirmed. Let's build a community where no parent feels alone. Join me, and let's make inclusion a reality.
